Society today has become consumed with technology these days between, laptops, iPhone, smart watches and many more. We can pretty much get anything we are looking for in just a few taps. Most people have their whole lives on the internet, but who is to say it is destroying our lives? In fact, I think it has helped us become more efficient and capable of doing many things in such an easier and shorter time span. Kenneth Goldsmith wrote, “Our devices might be changing us, but to say they’re dehumanizing us is simple wrong.” It is safe to say that this generation today is pretty lazy because of the use of the internet. You can talk to people without having to converse face to face, you can shop without even leaving your bed, and you can even read anything anywhere you go without having to carry books wherever you are.
The internet has definitely changed the way we communicate with people, but the point is we use and need the internet every day. Whether you like it or not technology is going to keep getting bigger and better so just face it. Imagine if we did not have the access to the internet like we do today. It would probably take you longer to do those research papers you always do the night before or just in general it would not be as easy to find something you want in two seconds. It is not of waste of time that we have the internet today, it is a key part of our everyday lives and for the future.
