Position Post

Goldsmith and Saienni have many differing opinions.  Goldsmith stands that the use of the internet and similar technologies can be placed in the category of literacy, while Saienni pretty much trashes on everything that is not considered “traditional”, in terms of literature. It is kind of hard to take Saienni seriously, simply because she is just so negative. I feel as though I cannot trust her as a source because it appears that her personal feelings are too revealed. Goldsmith, on the other hand, appears to look at the topic from many different angles, and ways of thinking. Goldsmith seems, at least to me, as a reader, to have done is research more and knows how to appeal to his audience, making them want to continue reading his work. Saienni tries to apologize to her readers at the end of her post, saying “And remember, I don’t want to put anyone down with this post. If you like the stuff R.M. Drake puts out, then more power to you. But invest in the future of poetry and read what others are putting out as well, whether it be through a magazine or journal, or through the world wide web. Promote poets!” but it just seems like a last-minute attempt to get her readers back on her side and to make herself appear as not as harsh on those she is commenting on.
