Techno-catastrophes

The age of digital print is here, and many writers have learned to adapt to the current times. R. M. Drake is a poet who has learned that his medium is going to be most sought after in the form of a instagram post. His poems usually are a stanza with one simple theme and come at a multitude, as he often posts multiple times within a day. This allows for a more raw and natural feel to many of his poems without the wait for many editors to sift through his work and “refine” it.

Humans have progressed throughout the times and use the more convenient technology. For example, historically human-kind used horses for transport, now it would be unheard of to use a horse to go to the grocery store. Why would we expect a different reaction to writing? Whenever new technology comes out, we should use it to better our lives and make things easier. It shouldn’t be difficult for other writers to transport their talents onto a different platform, contrary to Lindsay Saienni’s beliefs. To be frank, Saienni’s views just come off as ignorant and unwilling to change, rather than an actual appreciation of the art form of poetry.
