There are many articles with different opinions circulating throughout the world. Some people say technology has impacted literature in a negative way because people can lazily write literature and it blows up on the internet. While Saienni had so much negativity to say about poetry. I can’t help but look R.M Drakes poetry and define it as real poetry.
The whole argument is just about how technology affects literature. Of course technology is going to affect literature. As a society we are always evolving and growing. Change is inevitable. Literature will be affected and that is inevitable. The way poetry and literature is today, just because it may be different than literature 50 years ago doesn’t make it any less valid.
Another aspect is the trends that technology and social media bases circulate. How people write is based off of trends and slang nowadays. People tend to not be as formal on social media. It is still poetry. It is still literature. People are more aware of what’s happening in the world because with the click of a button you see everything that’s going on in the world so people may write things that are relatable to the audience or that is the talk of the town right now.
Literature is always evolving and will always change. Technology makes that happen. With the click of a button people can publish their work. They write in ways that will attract and audience. For instance R.M Drake writes short and sweet. The audience is attracted because it easy and light. But, cancel out technology and the only poetry you would have is long poetry and on paper.Technology impacts literature but not in a bad way. It opens doors for different types of literature and that’s the beauty of it. It expands the world of literature.
