Technology has come a very long way, and now it is part of our daily lives. I remember when I was a kid my way of having was to go to a friend’s house and play with toy cars building roads and making up stories. It was a fun time, but now we see kids playing on their iPhones watching videos on YouTube or watching someone stream on Twitch. At first I was disappointed because of my expectations of my own childhood, but then I realized technology will only keep innovating, and soon enough this was bound to happen.
When I read “wasting time on the internet” I couldn’t agree more with Kenneth goldsmith, with technology moving forward so does the way we socialize, and with the creation of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, that way has been revolutionized. Reading hard copies of books is a thing of the past too, with virtual books taking over. Also just as how books changed so did poetry with R.M Drake creating a new type of poetry called “Instagram poetry” which has caught a lot of attention and changed the way people think.
