There is no way to deny the fact that we are in a transitional technological advancing period.Technology has rapidly gained momentum over the last 20 years or so and is continuing to collect population. It is nearly to a point where technology is unavoidable and unstoppable. With such an abrupt technological advance in the small amount of time, people begin to form interesting opinions about technology. On one hand, the belief of a poet such as Lindsay Saienne exclaims that most technology users are millennials, insinuating that as a bad thing and that she may be an older individual, pre-millennial thinker. She specifically targets millennials that follow the poet r.m. drake on Instagram. I believe her opinion to technology and social media is a negative misunderstanding. This may hint that she is unaccepting of the technological advances. Her beliefs differ greatly to Kenneth Goldman’s beliefs, according to his Wasting Time on the Internet whom of which I strongly agree with pertaining to the benefits of this technological advance. He explains the misunderstood conception that all the negative outlooks on people using technology nowadays deem true, (such as how is makes us antisocial, etc,.). He explains that in actuality, it is exercising, strengthening, and restoring human functions, social skills, communication skills, and more. In my personal opinion, Kenneths’ opinion has more logic to it. Playing games on your phone may have a high possibility of improving your hand eye coordination, eventually. Typing, responding to emails and texts, and watching informational videos on the internet can all be beneficial actions for the communication and learning skills if used efficiently. Regardless of whatever inevitable technological advances the future holds, I know in the future we will have those who learn and live with it and those who try to avoid and reject it.
