Did the internet worsen our perception of reading? Perhaps it didn’t worsen it but might have enriched our knowledge and education.
In the past people have relied heavily on books as the main source of getting information. Now, we are open to a wide range of access to the internet, that will prove to have an overwhelming presence to the future of education.
In Stephen King’s UR the release of Kindle 2 people were mesmerized with the new features. In the book it explains how Robbie had brought the device into class and was able to access the books and how the class encourage their teacher, Wesley to invest in one. The dynamics of classrooms have changed. The idea of using a pencil and paper to write down things were the resources of the past.We went from chalkboards to overhead projectors, and now pull down projector screens. Now, there are so many devices that can be used we have laptops, tablets, and phones to help us with taking notes in class that has given us more access to books, assignments and researching for classes.
In the future, like in “Massively Open” we can see that technology is ultimately advancing. Zoe student, Damien was not actually a student but a device that ended up saving her life because he was able to “see inside the network. Almost all of it at the same time, and sometimes change things in it.”This shows you the importance of advance technology capabilities that is beyond imagine. Perhaps our advancement of technology will have a link to majority of a future generation that will settle with technology as their assets and having more online classes or universities, but by all still keeping some methods of the past.
