The internet has changed the way we learn drastically in the past ten years and it will continue to change the way we learn as the years go on. This article by Education Changemakers , states that “This [technology] has impacted every area of modern society, and schools have embraced the digital revolution, and see the value of the Internet as a learning tool.” This article goes to show that education is continuously using technology and the internet as a necessity to learning and doing work inside and outside the classroom.

Maria Cecire’s Massively Open depicts a future where most schools are completely online. While this is somewhat realistic, I believe that the future will not end up this way. It is extremely realistic that more completely online schools and programs will continue to grow, but many students will still struggle with solely online courses. For more education programs to become reliant on technology and technology alone, they would have to adapt in ways that students could still work with someone one on one.
Again, in Massively Open, these online schools are more affordable than education today. While a student would be spending less money to enter a program to get their degree, they may have to spend even more money on privatized tutoring in order to learn material in a way that benefits the student, therefore using the money they believe they are saving. I know I would probably be spending way too much on tutoring with someone because I find an all online course ineffective to the way that I personally learn. Some of my peers would say the same once asked that question as well.

While technology and education grow together, society should not completely get rid of our physical schools and make them completely online. It won’t take long for these programs to grow, but it may take a long time for only online classes to be the norm.
