The Digital Classroom

The future of the classroom will be enhanced and modified through the use of upcoming technology. Mobile devices have begun to get used more in the classroom. Kahoot is a program that many teachers have used to quiz their students on their understanding of the content they teach. I speculate that many classrooms will begin to use students’ mobile devices to even take tests and get actual grades from this. Remind101 is another app in which a teacher can mass communicate to students about upcoming assignment or just general announcements. Students are slowly becoming even more of “Digital Natives” as the generations pass on.

Imagining a society where many of the student population are online based sounds like a pipe dream, but in reality this can become the truth within the upcoming decades. Throughout the years, the amount of homeschool students has increased steadily and many of these students are opting for online home-schooling opportunities. Many students will start to diminish their writing skills as everything becomes more focused on typing capabilities, therefore the written text that our generation is required to learn may become a thing of the past. Students will adapt to this technologically savvy environment, making pen and paper a thing of the past.
