I personally feel that universities will always be a place for professions that are heavily dependent on certification . Such as medical, or law based professions. These types of fields require the participants within them to be able to legally show they are qualified to do the work they say they can do, but that’s is not the same for all professions.
Technology in its current state has allowed people with no background in a variety of diffrent feilds rto participate some form of skill that they want to pursue with no discrimination. A passion in film may lead to a Youtube based filmmaker, a passion in bussiness may lead to a Shopify based vendor, and a passion in art may lead to a Instagram based muralist. These types of things are done frequently on the internet by people with no formal background in these fields.
