My form of writing that I chose to analyze is how I log my work throughout a week including logging about my goals. Specially running goals and academic goals. I personally love to push myself both physically and academically. I do this in both digital and on pen and paper in order to help motivate myself. But why do I need two platforms in order to log my goals on a weekly basis?
When I am planning my week out on Sunday nights, I usually write on a notecard my goals, both academically and in the running realm. I do this by listing the days and writing the specific goals from 3-10 miles and the target pace. I also color coordinate the paces by colors with slower races being more neutral colors and more intense the brighter and more vibrant. I do this because, When I am walking in and out of my room throughout the day, I can glance over and see the colors and be reminded by what is still to come in the week.

However, after I am done with my run, I log my actual results in my phone along with the location of where I ran (UL, SLU, etc). I do this for several reasons; first, it allows me to log it very quickly on my phone and every time I log into my phone, I am reminded by what I have accomplished. Secondly, I am always on my phone from the moment I wake up to the time I get into bed.
I also make notes on my computer on my weekly goals with school. Specifically assignments that need to be done or tests that will occur during the week. I do this so that I will constantly be nagged by my computer to keep up with my work. This helps me to stay focused as well as make sure I am on top of my studies. Social norms allow me to be on my computer most of the day doing work, so this form of note taking is accepted.

While both of these are two different types of writing forms on different platforms , they both offer different elements that help to remind me that each day I have room for improvement. I use both forms in a way that helps me grow as a student and as a runner.
