Writing as a whole has changed so much now to what it was earlier in time. The way we talk sounds different, as well as the way we write. In today’s world we talk in a very informal way and half of the time it is not written or spoken. It is typed on a screen half of time. We now use slang, emojis, shortened words because we are too lazy to type the real world like “ppl” meaning people or “bc” meaning because. Even my writing has changed the way I speak to others and is affected by society. I am lazy in a sense because I don’t write my assignments on paper or in a planner. I type sticky notes on my laptop screen because it is faster and I am more likely to see it rather than taking the time to look at a planner. I have noticed that when I type my sticky note I abbreviate like for Biology I type Bio or for homecoming i write Hoco, and I even write CCO instead of typing chili cook off. It’s a trend now to do everything on a laptop. No one wants a paper textbook or paper notes. Everything is done on a laptop now.
While I write my homework and read my textbook off a laptop, I use a notebook for notes. I can’t just use a regular black pen either. I feel the need to make it colorful because people online say it will help you remember information. I don’t know if it is true but I still take the time to write my notes in color.
Looking at my sticky notes on my laptop and paper notes. I have noticed I abbreviate and shorten everything when I type but when my papers are handwritten I spell out the full word and the information is more clear. Reading things off my laptop is almost hard to understand since it is abbreviated so much. So I tend to handwrite the things I typed and color code everything to organize it.
