With the advancement of technology, there are a variety of ways in which we can communicate with one another. These can include through text, social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. However, even though we have these options available, it is determine how we communicate with others on the basis of who we are interacting with. There is a distinct dialogue that people would use with their mom versus a friend. The same applies when communicating with a professor.
As college students, we use this similar concept when we are utilizing the information in our classes. We also use a variety of different ways in which we interpret or grasp the concept of the material. When I do my research papers, I might brainstorm my ideas on my phone or write it on a piece of paper on the topic I’m going to write about than I will start typing my essay on my laptop. I feel that I tend to write well-developed essays when I am in a quiet place or by myself with my laptop typing away. If I am running errands I might use my phone to type some notes down for my paper. However, in certain classes, such as my psychology class, I would type my notes during the lecture and when I need to study for my test I would print my notes out highlight, underline and write notes down on paper. I also read the corresponding chapters with the lectures and make notes as well. I find that it is better for me to be present in class to comprehend the material and type the information, read the chapters when I am at home, and add my own notes.
