I Forgot My Computer so now I have to Write My Notes :(

Pencil and paper are inferior to the many ways we construct our ideas. Throughout my education, the way we write information has changed, and is ultimately based on preference. I have noticed that majority of students during lecture take notes on their computers instead of physically writing because it takes less time. Depending on what program they are using, such as OneNote, it can be accessed at any time on any device

My notetaking preference varies on the class. In a larger lecture class, I often have the PowerPoint, if provided, on my computer, adding additional information as needed in the notes section. When studying, I prefer to write key concepts that will be on the exam or need further understanding. My computer is my main source of notetaking, but on occasion if forget that there is an upcoming quiz, I will type short notes on my phone for easy access or make a Quizlet, without having to open my computer.

A lot of people tend use planners as their source of organizing their schedules, but that just does not work for me. Instead, I opted to set reminders. As opposed to writing in a daily planner, I always have my phone in my had, so it will be not ignored. I can set a time for it to notify me, and it has a greater chance for being completed.

Outside of class, I also write. It may be a text message, a post on social media, or personal messages to myself, all composed on one device. Unlike Takatsu, my cell phone is not used to write a novel, but mostly for communication. Opposed to my notes, my text messages are not grammatically correct and are not specific to one topic, but an outlet to communicate with others casually. However, while writing a social media post, I do not know who it will reach, so I opt for proper grammar.
