I communicate with myself and others many different ways throughout the day. As a student, one of the ways I communicate with myself is by taking notes. During my classes, I take notes to go back and study later. I make sure to always write my notes down instead of typing them, because when I write them it helps me to learn the information as I write. When I write notes for myself I am very particular about how I do so, to ensure that everything I found important is clear to me later on. My notes are extremely organized. I underline important main topics, I separate every chapter into sections, and I even star and highlight notes that will be on my future tests. I do all of these things to ensure that I know exactly what is important later on, and so that everything is very clear. While this communication to myself as a student is very organized and detailed, the communication in my work life is very different.

As an employee at a company, I communicate with my bosses and employees over text. The way I text my employees is much more casual and unorganized compared to to my notes in class. I often communicate with my employees through groups texts that entail very short and straight forward conversations. Also, because I have formed friendships with some of my coworkers and bosses, our texts are much more relaxed. Often times, our group texts are so casual that we joke around with one another, and use more slang to express ourselves with one another. These conversations are much shorter, and much less detailed, because the people I work with do not need the details about my life. As long as they understand the main purpose of the text, the conversation is over. Though this type of communication is very different than my note-taking, they are both very important factors of my day-to-day life.
