Back in the day, watching porn or even talking about sex in public was taboo. Even asking your mom about sex or where babies come from was a very uncomfortable/awkward situation, therefore making you turn to the internet to answer all your curiosities.

Going to a catholic school, they never taught about sex neither, but just to be abstinence and that sex will basically “kill you.” Luckily, I went to a summer camp for about 6 years and they actually taught about safe sex. In those classes they talked about myths about sex like having sex on your period, condom usage and how to put one on, and so much more. That class was a very good tool to have in my life because I did not have to turn to the computer for guidance or avoid those awkward conversations I should not have with my mom about what different kind of sex positions there are.

The Internet is definitely a huge influence in our lives living in this generation. Kids this generations learn things from the Internet more than from an actual person and it is kind of scary. There is even a thing called “Twitter Porn,” where a specific time frame at night (1am-4am), is when there is nothing but short porn videos are playing, and this is something normal to the social norm. Just like in Fifty Shades of Grey, you learn about different types of relationships and sex terms; things I never knew existed and was taught. In this world, you learn about who you might want to be, things you are interested in doing, and even how to have sex. Learning about sexuality and sex on the internet is very huge in today’s world, from porn websites to books and even social media. Sex is everywhere and talked so much as if we were talking about the weather outside.
