Disabled Accounts

Yes, that was my Instagram account.

A month or two ago is when I made a switch away from the social media world. It was a very hard decision to make because 1. It kept me entertained, 2. I was being social, and 3. I was constantly updated on news. The reason behind my removal from the social media world is because of the constant negativity I was surrounded by. Social media is definitely not the place for people without tough skin. Now that isn’t me saying I don’t have tough skin but there is a lot of unnecessary negativity that I know is not benefiting me.

Facebook was my first ever social media account. I was in middle school at the time and was constantly seeing my friends signed on and messaging them. Next, I got an Instagram and treated it the same way. I was never much of a picture person so I would post every blue moon. I had Snapchat for a while alongside Instagram until I found it pointless to post on there if it would just be gone the next day. I guess you can say I just became bored with the repetition of the medias and the purpose of them?

Last, was my run with Twitter. Oh Twitter, how you always seem to amaze me with your content. Twitter was my favorite. I loved how it was words instead of pictures majority of the time. I recently came to a stop with it because I was constantly seeing shit that honestly pissed me off. The way the new generation is normalizing cheating in relationships and abuse of any kind is quite sickening. I’m very sensitive to content so I can let it easily affect my mood. I will learn one day.
